In general, Mexico is very romantic, with a lot of special places that, due to their names, we believe that Cupid is surrounding them any day of the year.
And we would like nothing more than to share with you these symbolic and allusive sites normally visited by locals, as they are not very known by international tourists you can visit them soon and thus experience Mexican love in all its splendor and all its facets.
1. Alley of the Kiss, Guanajuato
There is no more colonial destination with romantic streets full of legends like the capital of the state of Guanajuato; this city has an alley that is both a tourist attraction and an emblematic place of the city that maintains a great love story: “El Callejón del Beso”.
Every couple who goes to the alley knows the legend of a couple who secretly loved each other and which ended in an unfortunate tragedy.
The tradition is that on the third step, the lovers must kiss each other, because if they don’t, they will have seven years of bad luck.
This romantic act, as well as taking photos on the balconies, is a fascinating experience to live in Guanajuato where kisses and love are the order of the day.
2. Alley of Romance, Morelia
This alley dedicated to love in pink stone, with fountains and flowers called camelinas, is the ideal place to sit and enjoy the harmony and the colonial views of the nineteen buildings that are considered the most important monuments of Morelia.
This intimate and picturesque little street for lovers keeps on its walls verses from the poem “Romance of my city” by Don Lucas Ortiz and its calm atmosphere and full of history will leave you even more in love with Morelia and your companion.
It is located a few meters away from the aqueduct and the Fuente de las Tarascas.
3. Bridge of Love, Leon Guanajuato
As in Paris, Italy or Madrid, we also have the Bridge of Love in Mexico, whose tradition consists of couples in love attaching engraved padlocks to its chains and depositing the keys in a container as a promise that their love will last forever.
This new tradition of Leon Guanajuato has existed for a couple of years and so far it has many locks of couples who have sealed their love from different parts of Mexico and other places, in addition to being decorated specially every February 14 or on different festivities.
Without a doubt, it is a beautiful token of love for couples. You have to prepare your lock!
4. Romantic Zone, Puerto Vallarta
And on this list, of course, Puerto Vallarta cannot be missing, considered “The Most Romantic Destination in Mexico” for its natural beauties, its cobbled streets, its sunsets and special services for couples who, when they visit it, simply meet again with love.
In the Romantic Zone of Puerto Vallarta, also known as “Old Vallarta”, a bohemian air is breathed by preserving a colonial style that transports you to other times.
In this always active area you will find the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe, art galleries, crafts, rich cuisine, music with cultural walks along the boardwalk and its cobbled streets.
5. Beach of Love, Los Cabos
In the Mexican sea there is also romanticism and that’s why the name of Playa del Amor can be found in destinations such as Nayarit, Oaxaca and Los Cabos, of which in this last paradise we find this beach very close to El Arco, the famous attraction of Cabo San Lucas.
Many say that the name of this beach is due to the union of the waters of the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean, others tell an ancient love story, what if its scenery is so fascinating that if you go with your partner you can feel a lot when you are nothing more and nothing less than in Playa del Amor with crystal clear waters, brightly colored fish and unforgettable postcards with the arch in the background, sea lions and the magic that the sun gives.
6. The Heart, Xplor Park
If you want to live an adventure as a couple, Mexico also offers us the best with this park in the Riviera Maya with an underground landscape formed by stalagmites and stalactites where activities full of adrenaline are carried out.
The Heart of Xplor is located in the center of the four paths that lead to the expeditions in the park, that is, they will always meet him at the beginning and the end of each adventure.
The great heart is decorated with red mosaics and its beating is so real that it will give them energy to continue the routes.
The adventure and the photo in this heart will also seal the memories of that trip together.
7. Passion Island, Cozumel
Something very similar to Playa del Amor happens with “Isla Pasión” since in Mexico we have two of them: on Isla Holbox and Cozumel, in the latter the small island that used to be an altar to the goddess Ixchel is now the best place to escape a moment from the usual, with fascinating beaches and excursions to enjoy a whole day of sun, food and the full rest of resting in their hammocks.
Isla Pasión is romantic by nature, so much so that couples choose it for getaways or even better to get married as it is so private and has a beautiful chapel; the best thing that this island gives us, in addition to rest and activities such as kayaking, is the setting to admire that is unforgettable.
It is located north of Cozumel and can only be reached by boat either in its port or in Playa del Carmen.
And if, in addition to these places alluding to love, you would like to take your partner to unique and romantic local places, I also recommend:
- The WTC Bellini, DF, for a dinner in the Heights.
- The Cuernavaca Viewpoint, to have the best view of the city and hug each other.
- The Fifth Avenue of Playa del Carmen, with restaurants, music and unforgettable nightlife (now without Corazón street).
- Plaza Los Arcangeles, a charming corner in San Ángel in the southwest of Mexico City.
- La Isla, Querétaro, for a weekend just for you.
- Yelapa, Puerto Vallarta, of rustic charm and rest.
- Former Hacienda de San Miguel Regla, Hidalgo, with lakes, ponds and nature.
- Las Cabañas de Tulum, Sleeping by the sea? Clear.
